Back in October Colt Brinkerhoff headed East for the GNCC Ironman. We caught up with him about his adventure and got the scoop on what happened while he was there. Colt injured his wrist and wasn’t able to finish the race, but posted that he was certainly keeping redemption in mind for the ’14 season. Colt raced one a YFZR prepped by Walker Fowler and his crew, took his own posse of folks to Indiana, and the outcome you will be able to see on video because Gerald is a soon-to-be YouTube sensation.

This weekend is the Heartland Challenge, a 10 hour atv race in Iowa that’s popular among East Coast XC racers. This endurance race is suitable for youth and adults, pros and amateurs, and includes both ATVs and UTVs. Teams consists of 2 or 3 riders, with the exception of those nutcases that want to ironman all 10 hours alone, in which case they go all lone wolf out there.
Check out the release video! Assembled in the USA (Georgia) the new YFZR features some cool redesigned features and some ready-to-race components (including Maxxis tires right out of the box 21s and 20s). It comes in a standard Yamaha blue and white color scheme which looks pretty nice and a badass orange version!
Some highlights of the new Yamaha, besides the new color scheme, include a new slipper clutch; titatium 5-valve cylinder, newly design exhaust, and new cam profiles; new ECU and diagnostic tool; redesigned ergonomics – though they look at lot similar; and several more features.
