Josh Pursell’s Quadx Rnd 2 Perris Raceway race report

Saturday.
Practiced Saturday afternoon to make any necessary adjustments to the bike and learn the track. Of course we got to practice after the bikes rode on it all day. But the track was in pretty decent shape. The bike ran great but I noticed I was getting a bit of arm pump pretty early. So I cut practice early.

The track.
There was a table top that was about 100 feet. But it just shot you up. And there was two different rhythm sections that were pretty technical. A couple sweepers into some rollers and an ant hill. The track was a bit one lined but fast paced.

Fast 5: Interview with Robbie Mitchell

076Robbie Mitchell has been a WORCS pro for quite some time. This year aboard his Honda he had a stellar start to the season, even under tough track conditions, but fell just shy of the podium later on. Robbie tells us about his season, what he learned, and gives a little bit of advice to the up-and-comers.

You had a great start to the season, but struggled in the middle, and then finished out strong. What happened? The first of the season was great! Then I had a race that I wasn’t mentally ready for. After that I just had small mechanical issues. At Taft my air box mount broke, Pala I ran strong but my wheel came loose at the end forcing me to limp the last 3 laps. Then I broke a chain at Glen Helen and bent a couple of sprockets at Honey Lake. It was really frustrating! But I learned a lot and everything will be better next year!

Year end interview with Katie Dixon

kd2Katie Dixon, sister to Dylan, track photographer, and badass on quad sat down to answer a few questions about her season, taking photos, and racing in general. She captured the last round of QuadX on camera, so check out the recap here after reading about this upcoming star’s 2013 season.

So tell us about your season. Did you meet all your expectations? Did it leave you feeling accomplished or disappointed? Do you wish it went differently at times? I  had a good season, I had some rough patches but I finished strong and I wanted to podium for the championship. I placed 2nd in the points behind my good friend Brittany Richert, which was good accomplishment for me. I’m just glad I finished this season healthy and in one piece.
