Northwest ATV team Quad75Dezert has been in Mexico for the past week pre-running their respective sections in preparation for the San Felipe 250 which takes place this weekend. Saturday, March 10th, is the 44th annual MasterCraft San Felipe 250, and a lot of heavy hitters have come out to race it.
My goal this year is to attend more races, and this is the first race of MY season (the next one will be the opener of QXNW). I’m heading south today on assignment for the Quad75Dezert team. The San Felipe 250 is next weekend and the competition is always stacked. San Felipe is a nice little town waiting for an awful resort to invade it. It’s warm, quiet, and has the best fish and shrimp tacos you have ever tasted, plus it’s on the Sea of Cortez.
A NW tradition – 40 miles of whoops with your best friends and local racers. What’s not to love? Did we forget to mention the 10 foot sprint to a dead start to haul the mail down the drag strip? It’s wonderful, and it didn’t get the nickname the Ironman because it was a piece of cake.
Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots of talk about the many events at Washougal, plus Vegas to Reno & the Straddleline event September 10-11th. Hosted by Reed Petchnick, with guests Brandon Brown, Cody Irving, …
What I learned in Baja…A Guest Post by Mary McHugh (aka Fredsmom). Upon returning from the San Felipe 250 – my first and hopefully not last trip to Baja with the Quad75Dezert teams – one of the first questions many people asked is “Did you have a good time?” “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” I want to scream back! To say the least, I had a fantastic time! Their question is usually followed by, “What was the best part about the trip?” You could start off with the fact that the 100A team won! But, being in Mexico was a lot more to me than that. Don’t get me wrong, it felt absolutely amazing to play even the smallest role in helping the team to victory, but going to Baja was an experience in itself. An “adventure” you could say.
