Colt Brinkerhoff’s Ironman Adventure

Back in October Colt Brinkerhoff headed East for the GNCC Ironman. We caught up with him about his adventure and got the scoop on what happened while he was there. Colt injured his wrist and wasn’t able to finish the race, but posted that he was certainly keeping redemption in mind for the ’14 season. Colt raced one a YFZR prepped by Walker Fowler and his crew, took his own posse of folks to Indiana, and the outcome you will be able to see on video because Gerald is a soon-to-be YouTube sensation.

GNCC Ironman Race Report

Crawfordsville, IN – All good things must come to an end.  We close out the 2013 GNCC season with a trip to a small Indiana town that plays annual host to a not so small race, The AMSOIL Ironman.  Racers from all over the country converged on this beautiful piece of property, most of them dressed in pink, to take part in the series finale and I personally can’t think of a better venue at which to do so.  The list of variables at this track seem endless with tight woods, deep creek crossings, steep hill climbs, and a loamy soil that can get ugly real fast if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.  However, this year she did cooperate by providing some of best racing weather we’ve seen all season.  Perhaps her way of apologizing for Kentucky!

Ohio Crew Rider Tyler Hamrick takes ProAm win at Wildcat

Hamrick Went Wild at Wild Cat MX

Watch for the #726 on the podium in the future!
Watch for the #726 on the podium in the future!

This weekend at Wild Cat MX Tyler Hamrick had his best performance up to date. He qualified 12th fastest in the morning’s sessions setting him up with a fair gate pick. Tyler was able to get out of the holeshot and avoid a lot of carnage in 10th place. He quickly made his way into 9th were he would battle with Casey Martin the entire moto to the checkers. The 9th place in moto 1 was a career best for Tyler.

In the second moto another mid-pack start and barely avoiding another pileup, Tyler was able to stay clean. He moved up into the 8th spot a little over half way into the race and that’s where he would finish. Making a new career best 8th in a moto, and taking 9th overall on the day. The day’s wild events were good enough to put Hamrick into 10th place in points as well!
