CRF Skid Plate Review

When plastic skid plates first hit the market, they were absolute junk. It was essentially a formed version of quad plastic, making it brittle and not able to even withstand medium impacts. Needless to say, those didn’t take off as much as some people wanted you to believe they were amazing, they just didn’t work. Everyone stuck with the metal skids, but they potentially could end your race if the mounts broke or if they got caught on an obstacle, got ripped and bent. After a season they were so beat up you would have to replace them anyway.  They … Read more

MyPakage Review

You may have heard us praise the glory that is MyPakage underwear. We’ve said things like, “super comfy” and “stylish” and a host of other descriptors – all true! But this is a long term review of their Weekend and Weekday shorts as well as their new offering of Pro Tights.

mypakage-protightFirstly, let’s cover the OG weekend and weekday. MyPakage’s chief draw (pun intended) is their keyhole technology. What’s that? It’s a pocket for your man keys. A soft, no stitching pocket that keeps you from having to ever make unsightly adjustments. Your woman will thank you for not embarrassing her in public. The keyhole snuggles your bits and keeps you from sticking, chafing, or otherwise being uncomfortable. The seams are all covered, so you never have to worry about irritation, and the material is called Modal. A super soft semi-synthetic that often comes from Beech trees. It’s a type of rayon, softer than cotton, resistant to shrinkage, and is supposed to be highly moisture wicking. After over a year of use, all the weekend and weekday pairs we have are still going strong and are as comfortable as ever.

Unfortunately, our original pairs of MyPakage have some pilling of the fabric, and some waistbands with waves in them when not being worn. However, no holes, and not stretched out. They still fit and they are still soft. We’re long-term testing some of their new designs, so can’t speak to them yet.

Quad75 Reviews Powermadd Hanguards

If you’ve never tried a set of Powermadd handguards I recommend that you do. I’ve used them for years because of their great coverage, great accessories, and great features, plus they look good on every machine. That’s a combination that is tough if not impossible to beat.

Lots of colors to choose.

My setup has pretty typically been a set of Powermadd Star series handguards with the wrap around kit. The wrap around kit helps ensure that your handguards are in place no matter what happens or what hits them. A useful addition to any type of riding, even though they are designed for XC in the woods. Additionally, Powermadd has some great color combos on their Star series. I’ve usually had a set of black/blue or black/orange handguards because my current bikes and longest running color scheme has been orange and blue. They do have black and white, red and white, Suzuki Yellow, Honda red, etc. You have plenty of options to choose from to match your current bike.

Quad75 Reviews Klim’s F4 Helmet and New XC Gear

My first thoughts upon receiving my Klim F4 helmet was “Wow! I love this flat black!” The new styling was great and fit and comfort has never been better. Then, I got the red and white Klim F4 helmet to match the red, white, and blue XC gear, which is new from Klim. Two words: Blown away. The F4 not only looks awesome, it’s light. Super light. Feather light. Almost nothing on your head light. The interior is plush as well. I thought my black helmet couldn’t get any better, but the ECE version of the F4 is on another level of comfort.

Getting Started with Training for Moto.

From my experience, I feel that a good base is important when it comes to your cardio. Meaning that you should have do some something that gets your heart rate up around the 130-140 BPM mark for a half an hour to an hour several times a week for at least a couple of weeks to a month. Depending on what you have available to you, you can take a relatively easy jog, bicycle ride or work out on a rowing machine to accomplish this. These workouts are fairly easy but help for your recovery once you start ramping your training up.
