Race Report by forum member YFZ450BB7 – Ok now I may be a little impartial on this one cause I had a dog in the fight but in my opinion this was one of the best races every weekend, every moto. This was a race that you wanted to be on the wall watching cause there was 4 kids that wouldn’t give an inch no matter what. The 4 kids were my son Joey Bradstreet, Ryan Henkel, Missy Taylor, and Jake Rehbein.

The series for Joey got off to a ruff start as during the 1st practice on Friday we lost a rod bearing and a complete motor, so it was off to the house to get the DRR so we could at least salvage some points and as expected we got a 4th for the day as your going to have to be on your A-game in order to compete with these kids. Race #1–Ryan 1st, Missy 2nd, Jake 3rd, Joey 4th

Now before Rd #2 Frank Lyons of Lyons Technical Machining did a hell of a job getting Joey’s motor up and going again before the race, I could not have thanked him any more as Joey really can’t stand the DRR on the track. So after getting the motor in his quad Friday night and putting it through some heat cycle’s, I talk Elaine into letting Joey run a couple laps on the track after practice is over just so I know were good to go, it sounds good and I tell Joey to load her up and get some shut eye. Well we get up Saturday and the bike rips out of the gate, but this day belongs to Missy Taylor and she takes the win for the day. Missy 1st, Joey 2nd, Ryan, 3rd, Jake 4th.

Now as we head into Rd #3 Joey is starting to get back into the groove of things and all the kids are flying on the new track layout. But this day belonged to Mr. Jake Rehbein as he had 2 holeshots and 2 wins and rode great as Joey nor anyone had anything for him on this day. Jake 1st, Joey 2nd, Ryan 3rd, Missy 4th.

Now as we head into the double weekend this class was very much up for grabs as Ryan and Missy were tied for 1st with 65 pts ea. and Jake was just 2 pts behind and Joey just 3 pts off the pace. Now as most of the races have turned out, the holeshot has been everything as most of the time that ends up being the key to victory. So with a nice straight start and a 180 degree left at the end it was who got the best jump and held the throttle the longest, well thats where the bumping started and there was multiple tie ups at the first coner and on Saturday Jake and Ryan seemed to get the worst of it as they got tangeled up a couple times. So Satuday ended up being Missy 1st, Joey 2nd, Ryan 3rd, Jake 4th. Now Sunday as Joey told me was just plain FUN!!!! He ended up 3rd for the day but him, Missy and Ryan ran bumber to bumper to bumper every lap from the start to finish, this was a race that you couldn’t take your eye’s off cause if you did you probably would miss something. Ryan 1st, Missy 2nd, Joey 3rd, Jake 4th.

Now the last race for the Clark County part of the series was pretty much between Missy and Ryan for pts as they were seperated by just 2 pts with Missy in the lead. This was once again some great racing as at one point Joey was right behind Missy trying to make the pass with Ryan right on his bumper waiting for a mistake and Joey and Missy hit and knocked Joey off kilter a little and left the door open for Ryan to make the pass but Joey recovered just in time to grab a hand full of throttle and stay in front of him. Ended with Missy 1st, Ryan 2nd, Joey 3rd, Jake 4th. And thats how the final pts standings ended for the CC portion of things, with the overall still up for grabs when we head down to Salem.

I know this was long winded but I still left out a ton of stuff but everyone of these kids needed to get credit as just as Joey told me time after time he has a blast riding in this class cause every single time out anyone could win!!!!
