Help Needed to Bring Motocross to Snohomish County, WA

Updated [February 19, 2015]

As of yesterday, no decision has been made. The overwhelming support in favor of the track led to a continued hearing that will be held March 2nd. With that time available, the MXGP folks are calling for action to build more support for the March hearing.

Yesterday people from all over the state came to the hearing. Additionally, several local dealerships closed for the day to attend the hearing, or sent many of their staff to attend.

Motocross tracks are few and far between these days. Whenever the possibility of a new motocross track pops up, you can’t help but feel an overwhelming rush of excitement. We dream of the new obstacles and fresh dirt to shred. It’ll make your mouth water like a fat kid in a bakery, which brings us to MXGP Granite Falls MX.

Have you heard of this track? Chances are you haven’t, and that’s cause it doesn’t exist yet. As far as tracks in Washington are concerned, there’s no outdoor facilities available to quads north of Seattle, or within an hours drive for that matter. Unfortunately, the fate of this track is in the counties hands, and the time to act is very short. We were just informed within the last 24 hours.

If you’re like us and you really want to see a new motocross track that welcomes quads, you can still help while there’s time. The goal is to get at least 1,000 emails and letters sent to the folks over at the County. Let them know who you are, where you live, what you ride, and why this track is important to you. Even better, let them know how the motocross track will benefit the local community too. The toughest part of all is that this needs to happen before this Wednesday.

The second thing the folks at Granite Falls MX need is as many people as possible to show up for the hearing at the County. Riders have strength in numbers. If you’ve got the time and live nearby, or you’re willing to travel, they could use your support. Grab the kids, grab grandma and grandpa, maybe leave the pets at home though.

We also invite you to check them out on Facebook and let them know how much you appreciate them trying to bring us an awesome new track.
