2014 GNCC ~ Round 13

Crawfordsville, IN ~ The final round of the Grand National Cross Country series brings us to the state of Indiana and one of the largest population of ATV racing fans in the country.  The AMSOIL Ironman is almost a perfect storm of GNCC style terrain.  High speed areas across vast corn fields, mud, deep water creeks, and extreme elevation changes like the legendary Ironman Hill.  According to GNCC officials, this year also shattered records in spectator and racer turn out.

Starting off in the morning we have Daniel Gwinn in the 16-18C class.  Daniel has certainly had his share of ups and downs this year but he has always kept his “never give up” attitude.  He ended his day with the dreaded DNF and a blown engine.  One thing is for sure, Daniel earned himself a top notch education and is planning to use the winter break to make some serious changes to his 2015 program.

Moving up to the afternoon is North Carolina native Brandon Icard in the College B class.  Brandon experienced mechanical trouble on lap 3 sending him back to 26th on the day.  Not the ending he was looking for, but it looks like he will end up finishing the season 3rd in points.  Vet B rider Dan Webb ended up putting his #703 Yamaha in the 5th position, mere seconds behind the 4th place rider.

That does it for the 2014 GNCC season.  We want to thank all of our sponsors, riders, friends, family, and fans for all of your support this year.  Although each rider must tackle the woods alone, this is still very much a team sport.  We are already looking forward to 2015 and what it has to offer.  Some very exciting things are coming down the pipeline and we hope to see you there.  You can keep up with us during the offseason by checking out our website, www.slightlybentracing.com.
